I am a mommy to two beautiful babies, working a job full time and going to school in between. All my life I was skinny fat, weighed 100lbs, former model and salsa dancer.  As a teenager and in my 20s, my main issue was gaining and keeping the weight. I ate anything and everything (fast food 3-4 times daily) and I remained the same weight throughout.

Then I hit the BIG 3-0, my metabolism started to slow down, the weight gain happened and settled at 115lbs.  My weight blew up to 165lbs with my first baby.  I was able to lose the first 20lbs shortly after giving birth but my weight stayed at 145lbs and unable to lose the excess pounds post pregnancy.

18 months later, while I was 6 weeks pregnant with my second baby, I was diagnosed with a rare case of Pelvic Girdle Syndrome. I lost the use of both my legs, paired with sciatica and chronic pain 24/7 and wheelchair bound for all 9 months I was pregnant. My back to back pregnancies led to other health issues besides this diagnosis. Now 1 year post pregnancy, I still have very limited mobility and chronic pain is managed with weekly epidural injections.  14 needles once a week just so I can walk and function "normally" for a few days before the effects wear off again.  I was depressed, dependent on multiple medications doctors kept throwing at me and losing my physical mobility meant I could not go back to my active lifestyle.   I despised my body tremendously for failing me.  How is it that my body that was once so strong is now functioning like a 90 year old body?!

As Gil always drilled in our minds throughout the program, baby steps and consistency go a long way. I needed a program that I could control and keep up on my own after completing it, and most importantly, not having to depend on exercises to lose the weight.  As a parent, it is so difficult to keep up with meals for yourself and for your babies.  I needed a program that would incorporate my busy, sedentary lifestyle and not change the family dynamic.

I have to admit that I was still skeptical even after Gil accepted me into the program and he worked out a plan for me to ease my mind.  3 months into the program, I was able to lose and keep off a total of 7.8lbs, 3 inches off my waist and 1.5 inches from my hips.  6 months since the program ended, I lost and kept off another 5lbs without even trying!  2 years later I lost 25 lbs following what I learned on the Mighty Transformation program for a total of 50 lbs to date! I am also no longer dependent on medications as I was able to alternate that with food.

This program is more than meeting a weight goal. Whenever we felt discouraged, Gil always said: Don't focus on the scale, look at the difference between last week and this week's changes. PROGRESS. You are already one step ahead of your goals. The true value of this program is helping you make a lifestyle change. It's changing your mindset, how you see yourself in the positive light and changing the relationship you have with food. 2 years ago, I did a trip in NYC with my family and the thought of venturing outside of our hotel made me cry as I wouldn't be able to walk the city and explore for longer than 15 minutes without pain. We did the same trip last year and I was able to walk 25 BLOCKS exploring the city. I see the world in a different light now, a much happier Mommy to my baby girls and my hubby. The only negative to this program is spending the money for a whole new wardrobe AGAIN. Small consolation to compensate for the weight loss LOL A million times thank you, Gil and the MT family!

Gil, you changed my life.  The habits are so ingrained in your mind that it becomes second nature.  I was able to focus on what I could still control in my life instead of focusing on things that were beyond my control and learn to love myself again.  The numbers are not what was really important, it is getting in touch with my inner self and be happy again.  There definitely is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Gil and the ladies in our group helped me see that and I am forever thankful for it.  I am so motivated to continue with this journey!
